Enterprise-grade attendance solution serving 500+ students across NNRG College with automated notifications and real-time reporting
The Problem
Class Representatives (CRs) were taking attendance in the first hour and sending it to faculty. However, if a student was mistakenly marked absent, they would remain absent for the entire day with no verification mechanism. This led to incorrect attendance records and frustrated students.
The Journey
Initial Solution - Google Docs
Started by creating a Google Doc shared in WhatsApp groups so students could verify their attendance and report errors immediately.
Class-Level App
Built a Flutter mobile app for my class, managing it successfully for one semester with automated WhatsApp reports and email notifications.
Deploying to CSE Department
Currently in the process of deploying across entire CSE department for all classes.
Future: College-Wide Expansion
Planning to expand the system to other departments across NNRG College for complete college-wide implementation.
How It Works
Role-Based Login: CRs and Class Incharges login with their registered email. Admin approval required for signup with AES-256 encrypted password recovery.
Two-Button System: The app features two primary actions:
- •Send Mails: Triggers automated emails to HOD, Faculty, Absent Students, and Parent Coordinators within 5-10 seconds
- •Send Report: Shares attendance summary with date, time, and absent student count to WhatsApp groups instantly

Class Incharge Email
Detailed class-specific attendance report with student names, roll numbers, and absence patterns for immediate action and student counseling.
Faculty Email (Today's Schedule)
Only faculty members scheduled to teach the class today receive attendance reports. Smart filtering ensures relevant notifications based on daily timetable.
Absent Students Email
Personalized emails to absent students with "Submit Reason" button. Students can explain their absence directly to CR, Faculty, and HOD with one click.
Parent Coordinator Email
Interactive emails with Call & WhatsApp Message buttons. Pre-filled messages in 3 languages (English, Hindi, Telugu) with student name and attendance details for instant parent communication.
